We gladly had a party in celebration of Prof. Satoshi Arima's 70th birthday (on the 18th floor of Building #51, Waseda University; March 7, 1998). Here are some selected pictures taken there (for more pictures, visit here in KAJI's homepage, although those pages are only in japanese language).Prof. Arima is Emeritus Professor of Waseda University. His research interests include algebraic geometry and the theory of relativity. He received his D. Sc. (1965) from the University of Tokyo. He taught at Yamanashi University (1957-59), at Musashi Insutitute of Technology (1959-1965) and at Waseda University (1965-98). He also taught at the University of New York at Buffalo (1967-69) as a visiting professor.
An organizing and executive committee of this party was formed by five people, S. Ishimura (Chairman), F. Hidaka, S. Ishii, H. Kaji and A. Noma, who were students of Prof. Arima. Then, many people not only his students, who have great respect for Prof. Arima, attended the party.
